Episode 330: Zombieland: Double Tap

Hello everyone, welcome to our week in Geek!

We're back with a super packed episode where we review Zombieland 2: Double Tap and give you our spoiler free and spoiler filled reviews. We also review the 2nd movie of our month of horror with Hereditary. We also discuss Joker's status as #1 Rated R movie, Leto out as Joker, Hocus Pocus 2, Ubisoft updates, Obi-wan TV show updates, Fox movies going into the Disney Vault, Last of us delay, and the Star Wars Episode 9 trailer. We wrap it up by answering our Podquestion of "What would your Smurf name be?"

This week's streaming review, and 2nd Horror movie, was Hereditary on Amazon Prime. We heard so many great things about this movie, especially on the heels of Midsommar.  But sadly neither of us were as enamored with the movie as we were hoping. Bat was really taken out of it by the slow, boring pace, and lack of purpose which all pushed him to tell others to skip this one.  I liked the movie more than Bat but don't argue with his points.  The movie is slow and the 3rd act especially jumps the shark.  But even with that said I do think there are a few creative jumps and creepy moments that would make this a fun movie for someone to watch.

Next week's streaming review is from one of our listeners, Jim, who want us to watch 68 Kill on Netflix. This is the third of our 4 horror movies of October.  We have 1 open suggestion left  if you want to help us round out that fourth movie slot make sure to send your suggestions below.

You can suggest a streaming movie that you want us to watch and review on future episodes that are on Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime or HBOgo.

Episode 329: Mehlificent Mestriss of Evil

Hello everyone, welcome to our week in Geek!

We're back with a super slimmed down episode where half of us review Maleficent: Mistress of Evil and keep it spoiler free. We also review the 1st movie of our month of horror with House of the Witch. With not too much news to discuss beyond some Batman Lillian casting, upcoming Start Wars trailer drop and Fortnight 2 we jump right into our Podquestion of "What was the last movie that impacted you emotionally?"

This week's streaming review was House of the Witch on Netflix. The first of our 4 movie month of horror doesn't necessarily start off with a bang but more with a whimper. Neither of us could really find ourselves getting into this lower budgeted horror film and didn't find there to be much to be scared of.  There really wasn't too much for us to say about this movie other than we felt that it was a pretty good idea to give this one the skip.

Next week's streaming review is from a lot of our fans that want us to watch Hereditary on Amazon Prime. This is the second of our 4 horror movies of October.  We have 1 other in the hopper so if you want to help us round out that fourth movie slot make sure to send your suggestions below.

Episode 328: Joker

Hello everyone, welcome to our week in Geek!

Thanks for being patient as we took this past week off.  But we're here with out Joker review, both spoiler filled and spoiler free review! We also talk about all of the Blizzard/China news, Quite a few new trailer drops including: Jungle Cruise, Birds of Prey and Dolittle.  Then we wrap everything up by reviewing last episodes streaming review of Welcome to Marwen and answering the Podquestion of "What planet in the solar system would you most want to visit?"

This week's streaming review was Welcome to Marwen on HBOgo.  Now this one was kind of sad, but not in the way you'd imagine.  Both of us were pretty excited to see this one but missed it in the theaters.  We loved the stylized look of the dolls and even in execution we loved it in the movie.  But the problem that we each had with this movie was that we just didn't feel for the main character.  There were so many plot threads and conversations that just really didn't lead anywhere and didn't really help us empathize with the main character.  We both recommend skipping this one, even with the cool effects.

Next week's streaming review is from one of our fans, Kristi, and she wants us to watch House of the Witch on Netflix. This is the first of our 4 horror movies of October.  We have 2 others in the hopper so if you want to help us round out that fourth movie slot make sure to send your suggestions below.
