Hello everyone, welcome to our week in Geek! And what a week it was. With Phoenix Fan Fusion wrapped up and in the history books we're taking a break form the normal format to bring you one of our favorite panels we do every year. The Summer Movie preview panel! Unfortunately, something things never change and we do a terrible job of restating people's comments and questions. But we had a fun crowd that geeked out over this summers blockbusters and talk movies.
With that said, this is a live podcast and the audio quality may not always be the best. But you do get to hear us rant and rave about all the summer movies that have past and those that are still on the horizon. We will be back to the normal format next week with our review of Godzilla: King of Monsters (so much excitement) and so much else. So thank you for listening and make sure to continue following our adventures using any of the means below.

Hello everyone, welcome to our week in Geek! The Summer continues to blaze past us with another tent-pole movie and next weeks Phoenix Fan Fusion. But before we get into that we get to gush about John Wick 3! We also have a number of fun nerd news, our streaming review of The Danish Girl and answers to last week's podquestion of "which death in the MCU did you feel the most?" Be warned that our answers do dip into spoiler territory.
This week we watched another movie from our backlog with The Danish Girl on HBOgo. First off,Eddie Redmayne's performance is simply fantastic. But not just his, the acting in this movie is top notch. Watching the story of people, and seeing how they evolve through the movie is truly a sight to behold. There is so much to love about the movie as it really challenges the audience. While this is not going to be a repeated viewing sort of movie it is definitely one that we highly recommend you give a shot.
No streaming review for next week because it's Phoenix Fan Fusion!!! We are super excited to see you all there and hope you can attend one of our 3 panels. You can also follow our fun by one of our social media channels below:

Hello everyone, welcome to our week in Geek! The summer blockbusters just keep running along with this week's release of Detective Pikachu. We will bring you all of the familiar spoiler free and spoiler filled reviews so make sure to catch-em...err both? We also bring you our streaming review of Netflix's "The Silence" and dive into some nerd and movie trailer news before wrapping it up with answers to last week's podquestion of "which Marvel Character did you want to see brought into the MCU?"
This week we watched our fan suggestion ofThe Silence. Lets address the elephant in the room, yes this is incredibly similar to one of favorite movies of last year, A Quiet Place. No, it does not live up to that other movie. But, with that being said, this movie does kind of tread it's own ground and do a decent job of it. Not saying that this movie is great by any means, but it's decent. When you consider all of the other Netflix original's track records, that's saying something. They atmospheric feel of A Quiet Place can't really be replicated on the small screen and this movie doesn't really try to ape that feel. Which is why I think we're a little more enamored by it. We both gave it a thumbs up, but we're not quick to recommend this to our listeners. Tread carefully, unless you love Stanley Tucci then tread freely.
Next up w'e're tackling our backlog of movies we missed in the theater. Seriously, this one came out about 4 years ago. But we've been curious about Eddie Redmayne performance in The Danish Girl on HBOgo.
You can suggest a streaming movie that you want us to watch and review on future episodes that are on Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime or HBOgo.

Hello everyone, welcome to our week in Geek! As we recover this week following the End Game buzz, we took a little break and skipped out on seeing a movie in the theater this week. Instead we started to focus on the news including the sad passing of Peter Mahew, Sonic's "new" look, and Sonic's soon-to-be "newer" look, and the directors of Spiderverse honing Sony's spider-centric TV universe. We also bring you our streaming review of Logan's Run and answer last week's podquestion of, "Who is your favorite hero in the MCU?"
This week we watched Logan's Run on Netflix. Boy Howdy does this movie not age well. Now with that out of the way, there genuinely is a good movie (Or at least a good concept of a movie) hidden somewhere in this 2 hour mess. Yes, it is over 30 years old and yes, old sci-fi does not always hold up very well, but the acting is absolutely atrocious. In fact, that's what really keeps this movie from being good. All the cheesy sci-fi paraphernalia aside, the nonsensical acting and character choices derail this movie towards utter ridiculousness. If you can't tell, neither of us really enjoyed this one. It's hard to bestow it the mantle of "classic" because of all its missteps. Even my love for Jenny Agutter can't bring me to recommend this movie to anybody.
Next week we have a fan suggestion for our streaming review. Kristi wants us to watch the Stanley Tucci led Netflix version of A Quiet Place, The Silence. She hasn't led us astray before so we're looking forward to giving this one a shot.
