Episode 270: Jurassic World: Fallen Franchise

Hello everyone and welcome to our week in geek! The summer block busters keep on rolling as we hit the theaters again and watch Jurassic Park:Fallen Kingdom. Is it good? Is it Great?  Or does it fall short of our low expectations? Well listen in on our spoiler free and spoiler filled podcast (at the end of our show) to find out what we think.  We also talk about the trailer for Creed 2, the cancellation of the Star Wars Story movies and a fan led fund raiser to remake TLJ.

Beyond Skyline is such a strange movie.  Not for the normal reasons that we might call a movie strange, this movie is strange because of it's origin.  Yes it is a sequelto the 2010 crap fest of an alien invasion.  Yes it's got the star power of a SyFy made for TV movie.  But... it's also not a bad movie.  It's also not a great movie mind you, just that we expected it to be an absolutely terrible movie and it's not.  The sequel easily has a higher budget and better plot line than the original and almost skews into a strange alien v martial arts/robots/gun runners... hell it just gets strange.  But, again, it's not bad.  If you do happen to watch it you will see an entirely serviceable scifi alien invasion movie that is better than Independence Day 2 (not a high mark).  On the other hand, if you skip this you really won't be missing out on anything.  Bat gave it a thumbs up (because it's one of the two) and I gave it a thumbs down.

Episode 267: Incredibles Too!

Hello everyone and welcome to our week in geek! This week we hit the theaters for the long
awaited Pixar sequel, Incredibles 2.  Is it good? Is it Great?  Is it, dare I say incredible? Well listen in on our spoiler free and spoiler filled podcast (at the end of our show) to find out what we think.  We, along with our friend Terry, also get to digest all of the E3 goodness as well as berate your favorite hammer for being the tool he is and forgetting (likely story) to watch our streaming review.  Some how, with all of our years of Podcasting experience, we again forget the podquestion.

Beyond Skyline is still on Netflix and is still our streaming review.

Episode 266: The Last Jedi The Fan Edit PCF Panel 2018

Hello everyone and welcome to our week in geek!  We're back to the non standard podcasts this week due to Hammer going out on Beerfest adventures this past weekend. This podcast is our 2nd and last panel from PCF where we roasted The Last Jedi.  There was a good crowd and we discovered that Bat apparently hates life. Though I will admit we do a terrible job of restating people's comments and questions, despite me saying that we would in the beginning.  This is a live podcast and the audio quality may not always be the best.  But you do get to hear us rant and rave about all the things that TLJ could have done better.

We will be back to the normal format next week with our review of Hotel Artemis and so much E3 goodness.  So thank you for listening and make sure to continue following our adventures using any of the means below.

Episode 267: Solo Adventure

Hello everyone and welcome to our week in geek! We are back in the groove again!  Back from our adventures from PCC... err PCF...well now PFF... screw this that's too many name changes.  It's not like it's the artist formerly known as Prince.  Anyways, tangent aside, we have our spoiler free and spoiler filled review of Solo: A Star Wars Story.  Spoilers, we liked it a lot more than we expected to.  We also review our last streaming suggestion of Andres the Giant, talk up some Nerd News and dish out some free shit good shit.

This week's streaming suggestion was Andre the Giant on HBOgo.  While I had heard from many people that this bio-documentary was a tear-jerker, I have you say I left with dry eyes.  Not to say the movie was terrible, we both just thought that it was more of an informational ride than a in-depth look in to the friendly giant.  There was even a good portion of the movie that really skewed away from Andre and focused more on Hulk and McMan and seemed like we diverted into a WWF history segment.  Both of us are pretty on the fence of whether or not to recommend the movie, we had a decent enough time but you're not missing much if you don't watch it.

Next week we dare to step back into the terrifyingly bad movie verse of Skyline with
Beyond Skyline on Netflix.  Blame this one on Bat.
