Our belated streaming review, brought to us by Mando, was the Coen Brother's No Country for Old Men. While this movie is highly love by many of the people we both know, we just didn't get it. Not to say its a bad or great movie, it's just a movie that doesn't really feel like is has any sense of closure. We do talk a bit about how we enjoy movies that are open ended or ambiguous, but still these movies justify their purposes by having some sort of ending. This one to me feels like the whole story of Bardem and Brolin's characters is just a footnote for Tommy Lee Jones' life. It's strange and doesn't always make sense, but it does have some cool scenes. Over all I think we both left feeling a bit miffed with Bat giving it 3/5 and me only giving it 2/5. If you do want to watch it, you will most likely only be watching it once.
Since next week's streaming review is my choice I picked American Ultra. This movie looked to be a stoned Borne sort of movie that we both missed in the theaters and it looks like perfect fodder for streaming reviews. You can watch this one with us on Hulu.
You can suggest a streaming movie that you want us to watch and review on future episodes that are on Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime or HBOgo.
