Episode 95: I, Freakin-stein sabbatical

Back from a sab-BATical we bring you a streaming review, Hammer brings you two Theatrical reviews and we go over the past two weeks of nerd news.

Bat suggested I, Frankenstein as this weeks Streaming Review .  We both agree, and still do,  that Aaron Eckhart is a good actor but this movie really just didn't need to exist.  Besides being a blatant palate swap of Underworld (which the writer did both so I guess he's ripping himself off) there just really isn't much to this movie. There was a cool concept of the Angels being Gargoyles but really the cool stops there and we are left with a movie that really fails to achieve anything but groans.  I gave it 2 stars while Bat gave it 3, but neither of us would recommend you watch this monstrosity (sorry but the pun must be made).

Next weeks Streaming Review is The Interview, the movie that started a whole lotta hoop la.  With the team up of Franco and Rogen you kind of know what you are in for.  We can only hope that that it entertains and doesn't cause the world to explode due to the Dear Leaders sadness.

If you want to join us on this streaming movie you can find this movie on Netflix. You can send us your reviews or your suggestions for our next streaming review via Facebook, Twitter or email us at Batandhammer@gmail.com

This Episode we discuss Xmen Apocalypse casting, Hardy leaving Suicide Squad, X-Files to make a return, Supergirl casting, The ending of the Marvel Universe as we know it and Borderlands 2 and Pre-Sequel making the leap to current generation.

Episode 94: Not so Hip to the Fellowship

The show continues with another week filled with our special brand of buffoonery with both Bat and I bringing you some good tidbits of nerd news, streaming reviews and free shit, good shit.

This week we watched the Fanboy's recommendation of Rise of the Fellowship.  Where to start with this one... well lets not bury the lead.  It's not good and we both gave it 2 stars.  What I assumed might be a movie equivalent to a LotR version Fanboys (a BandH favorite) turned out be something far worse.  I think Bat put it best when he said that there are movies that pay homage and jokingly poke fun at itself as well as nerds in general... this movie is not that.  We generally felt like it was full on making fun of that fanbase that this movie was specifically aimed at.  It really felt haphazard in it's flow and though it had it's fair share of good moments they really failed to come together in a cohesive fun movie.  Avoid this one and just watch a documentary on New Zealand‎, you'll have a better time.

I, Frankenstein is next weeks Streaming Review which comes from Bat's own queue.  We both agree that Aaron Eckhart is a good actor but from everything we have heard this just isn't a good movie at all... proven by the almost 1 and a 3/4's star rating on Netflix.  Bring your popcorn and don't hesitate to bring some entertainment to this one as we expect it to be a stinker.

If you want to join us on our third streaming movie of the new year you can find this movie on Netflix. You can send us your reviews or your suggestions for our next streaming review via Facebook, Twitter or email us at Batandhammer@gmail.com

Episode 93: Super Exxxtreme Engineers

New week, new episode!  This time with less of that non-resistant news stuff and more of the fun Bullshittery that we are known for!

Last weeks choice for streaming review was In A World.  This movie definitely did not live up to what I thought it was going to be.  The movie feels haphazard and a bit schizophrenic with all that is going on yet by the end of the movie you really don't feel like much has been accomplished by any of the characters.  Bat gave it 2 stars while I gave it 3 (would give it 2 and a half if I could).  The movie is Ok but far from good and we both think you are better spending your time elsewhere.

Next week we have the Fanboy's recommendation of Rise of the Fellowship.  All I know is what I gathered from the name and that it has 2 stars on Netflix, here's to hoping it's an entertaining adventure through middle-geek.

If you want to join us on our second streaming movie of the new year you can find this movie on Netflix. You can send us your reviews or your suggestions for our next streaming review via Facebook, Twitter or email us at Batandhammer@gmail.com
