This week's Streaming Review was Safety Not Guaranteed. Again we find that both Bat and I are on the same level. We felt that over all it is an enjoyable ride and worth at least the initial watch. But as Bat states on the podcast, the Time Traveling aspect of the movie is really only there as a plot device as this is more of an awkward love story than anything. The movie has a certain charm to it mainly due to the charisma between the two leads but it's not worth a return trip
Bat provides this out of the blue recommendation of our next Streaming Review, Last Days on Mars. I personally haven't heard of it until now. But I watched the trailer and found out that I was right in my prediction that it is a Horror/Suspense movie. Give it a watch below. Give it a watch below.
This movie can be found on Netflix so If you want to be a part of the review next week make sure to send us your reviews or your suggestions for our next streaming review via Facebook, Twitter or email us at Batandhammer@gmail.com
This weeks Nerd News includes: Yahoo picking up Community for its 6th season, Robbie Emel cast as (part of) Firestorm in Flash, Brandon Routh cast as The Atom in Arrow, Michael Bay directing the Power Rangers movie, Gearbox's new game, Battleborn, J.K. Rowling's new short story, possibly leaked BvS teaser, Jonathan Liebesman directing Shannara, Rifftrax doing Godzilla (1998) and Hammer's review of the 17min sneak peak of Guardians of the Galaxy.
We've also included the most recent episode via the embedded link below.
Hammer's Free Shit, Good Shit:
We're late on this one but in case you missed it Xbox released their July List of Games with Gold. It is a pretty solid month, even with only new XboxOne title. I can personally assure you that Guacamelee! and BattleBlock are both worth your time and from what I've heard Gotham City is a fun shooter of sorts though I still haven't played my free copy from PSplus.
XboxOne Max and the Curse of the Brotherhood
Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition
Xbox360 Gotham City Imposters (Starting 7/1)
BattleBlock Theater (Starting 7/16)
There was also a plethora of Humble Bundles to be found this week:
The main contender for your cash is most likely The Humble 2K Bundle which boasts the likes of the Bioshock Trilogy, X-com and Spec-Ops: the Line for a measly $20. Also don't forget there is still a few more games to come on this one
Next up you have another weekly bundle in the form of The Gamepedia Bundle. This one really doesn't have much for me besides Stacking but give it a look and see if you want to pay for the minium $6/$10/$36 tiers.
Last up is the Sci-Fi eBook Bundle which gives you 11 Sci-Fi books with the promise of more to be added later on in the bundle. To be honest I don't really know any of these books or their authors besides the one co-written Buzz Aldrin and John Barnes. But hey its books, and books never really go bad do they?
Here are the answers to last weeks Podquestion of what was the biggest disappointment in terms of Geek/Nerd Movie adaptation that you have seen?
