Episode 71: E.P.I.C. Websense

Hello dear listeners and welcome back for another week in geek! This week we are joined by two very special guests for this very Comic filled episode.  Drawn to Comic's Ken "The Web" Brown is back with another edition of The Web Sense with 6 comics you should check out.  We also have a new special guest Lonnie Lowe, creator of Dark City Comic's E.P.I.C.,  to tell us more about his very own comic origin story and tell us more about his comic.

We also review my pick for last week's streaming review The Family.  Both of us gave this movie 3 stars on Netflix and thought that over all it was an enjoyable movie worth at watch, just not repeat viewings.  In particular I thought the son and daughter characters were easily my favorite and only wished they had more time on screen.  For myself I can say that the biggest downfall to the movie was that after the big battle at the end there wasn't really much of a climax.  Instead we were left with a "but wait there's more there's more" type of ending except there won't be more.  If you have a lazy day and want to get a few chuckles then give it a watch.

Bat's suggestion for next weeks streaming review is the Horror movie The Purge.  This was a movie that both of us thought the concept looked pretty interesting but just didn't motivate us enough to watch it in the theaters.  But with it being on HBOgo why the heck not.

This movie can be found on HBOgo so If you want to be a part of the review next week make sure to send us your reviews via Facebook, Twitter or email us at Batandhammer@gmail.com

With the help of our guests we dive into this weeks nerd news concerning Rian Johnson (director of Looper) directing Star Wars 8 and 9, Rosario Dawson being cast in Daredevil, the swirling rumors about Jason Mamoa being cast as Aquaman and Marvel considering a standalone Hulk movie.

Our special guest Lonnie Lowe gave us the down low on his new comic series E.P.I.C. (Earths Protector In Crisis) as well as his plans for the up coming tie in Web Series that he will be filming here in AZ.  We wanted to thank him for taking the time to come on the show and talk shop as well as giving us a signed copy of his comic that we will be giving away at Arizona ICON next week.

This con will be in the Glendale Civic Center and admission is only $10 at the door so if you are looking for something to do next weekend be sure to drop by.

Bat and I will be hosting a panel about podcasting for beginners so come by and say hi.

But in the mean time if you want to read E.P.I.C. then head over to DarkCityComics.com

He is a cool guy we promise!
