Episode 60: Tortuga Twins 2 Electric Boogaloo

This week we have an encore sit down and geek out with our special guests Ronn, Riki & Jeff of the Tortuga Twins. Much fun many table pounding interruptions were had by all in this special podcast sequel.  We recorded with them right before their end of Ren Fair Party so you may hear some noise in the background as well as a delightful waiter taking our drinks.

Please do forgive the brevity of the post this week due to me being out of town but fret naught as my weird banter will be back next week

This week by the way of Humble Bundle we have some free shit, good shit for you in two doses.
The first being The Book bundle which includes Jumper (what the movie was based on).  I always love it when they do bundles of things other than games.  To get the full haul, including Wil Wheaton narrated Homeland, you just need to drop a minimum $15 bucks which really is a steal of 5+ books (with more to come).  Plus its for charity, doesn't that make you feel all warm and fuzzy.

The second is their weekly sale which is Rhythm themed this time which game like Audio surf and Bit Trip Runner on the docket.  Pay a minimum 6$ for this whole lot.

This also marks our Second Annual Summer Movie Round-up where we list off all the great and nerdy up coming releases and assess the financial impact of those many many theater trips. in case you are interested here is the full list that I pulled from.

Episode 58: Karate Robo WTF

Join us in the first week of Bat and Hammer trial running a new segment where they each take turns choosing a movie from either Netflix or HBOgo for both of them to watch (endure) and review (bitch about).  This weeks torture comes in the form of Karate-Robo Zaborgar, found on Netflix.
"A young man with a motorcycle that has the ability to transform into a karate-fighting
robot hunts down a gang of evil cyborgs to avenge the death of his father."
This movie is full of Japanese camp and self aware cheese ranging from Kamen-Rider nostalgia to rocket propelled breasts... yeah its strange and its 2 hours long.  Though it can be watched in 2 parts.

We also talk about our wants from Games for gold, BvS and Cap 3 aiming for the same release date in 2016, the Flash costume, Titan Fall breaking X-Box Live and the possible PlayStation Now prices.  Watch Human Centipede this week If you want to join in on the "fun" of Bat's choice of "movie."  Man I hate him so much for this....

Episode 57: Square owns my ass

Crickets sound as we try and take on this weeks slow news by discussing the trailers that are on most nerds minds.  I am talking about Transformers 4, Sin City 2 and Arkham Knight...  Also can we take a moment to laugh at the fact that it is spelled Ark + Ham?  Crickets again,  guess I'm the only one.  We also discuss Jack Trenton stepping down, the possibility of a Last of Us movie and what we would want from it as well as get your feedback on the FF casting.

For this week we present you with the question of what's you're favorite RPG of the Last Generation (PS3, Xbox360, Wii, etc.) ?  Let us know what your choice is on our FacebookTwitter or Email.

All signs are pointing to the summer movie machine is ramping up because we have yet another SzG movie trailer round up:

The movie "that we know is most likely going to suck but hope it won't" just had another trailer drop.  We are talking about the Transformers 4 trailer that just hit the web and this one is a damn good one in both of our books.

Our second trailer is kind of a let down really.  Sin City 2 really just looks like its trying too hard to be Sin City one, which I liked and Bat did not.  Something just feels really off in this trailer, maybe it's me but you decide for your self.

Okay this one isn't a movie but it damn near looks like it could be.  Infact if it was you could count my ass in on it.  I haven't really played any of the previous games but the new Arkham Knight looks damn gorgeous and seems like its setting the mood for something really cool (please be Batman Beyond).

The Free Shit, Good Shit is still here but just not so much of it as we only have the Humble Bundle offerings.

Mobile Bundle: With its standout for me being Catan

Weekly Pop-cap Bundle: Easily Peggle and Bejewled rule this one

Episode 56: Can't Stop, Won't Stop, Non-Stop

Welcome back for your regularly scheduled week in geek dear listeners.

This week we bring you our spoiler free review of the Liam Neeson "Taken 3" interlude movie "Non-Stop."  If you don't mind getting this aerial "who dun it" movie spoiled then stay tuned till the end of the podcast where we really dig into the movie.

Aside from our theatrical adventures we also dig into some nerd news regarding the possibility of more Martix on the horizon, Jada Pinkett Smith cast as head baddie in Gotham, Closing of Irrational Games, Black Widow to be first female super hero solo movie and Heroes coming back to the small screen.

For this week we present you with the question of the recently announced Fantastic Four casting.  What do you think of each of the particular actors cast for the announced FF reboot?  Let us know on our Facebook, Twitter or Email.

We have another SzG movie trailer round up:

First up is the veritable behemoth in the room, "Godzilla."  Now Bat and I were already on board with the first teaser that released not too long ago, but needless to say this one has us even more eager to see some more of everyone's favorite Large Lizard in Action.

Next up is Marvel's new movie property, "Guardians of the Galaxy."  This one also had a quick teaser that aired for it but I think the Trailer really speaks to the tone that they are going for in this movie.  I had said previously that the best way I could see this movie going was in a similar vein to "The Fifth Element."  After seeing the trailer I can say that I am not disappointed.

While Bat said that he loved the action he felt that the attempt at humor completely left him cold.  My Girlfriend and I were happy with both the humor AND the action.

Last up is a new comedy from Seth McFarland called "1,000 Ways to Die in the West."  This one actually dropped a couple of weeks ago so do forgive us for being late to the party.  I found the trailer hilarious while Bat was a bit more trepidaticious stating Ted.  Here is to hoping that this movie didn't show all the funny parts in the trailer.
