Episode 49: Your Ronin is mine!

Welcome back dear listener to a whole new year of Sprecken ze Geek with an extra long episode.  Bat and I ring in the new year with our review of 47 Ronin.  We catch up with your everyday heroes and hear how their holidays went. There's your weekly nerd news: Derp hacker takedowns, The Rock in DC project, Guardians cast picture and synopsis and Netflix trying different things. A new edition of Hammer's Free Shit, Good Shit as well as the answer to last weeks Q of the Week and next weeks question "What Xbox 360 exclusive would you recommend for Bat's library and why?" As always we bring you what we're watching and playing.

On a side note I realized we didn't even discuss the title of this weeks podcast as we usually make some puny joke.  This weeks came from the fact that when I saw Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa's character onscreen (top) I immediately saw (bottom) and pointed this out to Bat by saying "look, its 'Your soul is mine!"

We've also included the most recent episode via the embedded link below

Here's the answers we received via Facebook, as well as our own  from last weeks Question of the Week with "What book, that has never before been adapted, would you like to see made into a movie?"    I've also included Wikipedia entry tags for each in case you wanted to delve a bit more into each of the choices.  They were all pretty fun.

Tristan chose:     Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert A. Heinlein
Charles chose:   The Dark Elf Trilogy by R.A. Salvatore
Josh chose:        The Republic by Plato
Bat chose:          A Spell for Chameleon by Piers Anthony
Hammer chose:  On a Pale Horse by Piers Anthony
I cheated and had a second one which was
The Man with the Golden Torc by Simon Green

Next weeks SzG Question of the Week (we  still need a better name for that) is "What Xbox 360 exclusive game would you recommend for Bat?" Make sure to get your answers in for us before January 10th.

As I mentioned on the podcast I would like to give a shout out to a new local Comic Book shop, Dreadnought Comics.  Both Bat and I love our comics and from my interactions these guys do too and their set up is something I have not seen before.  If you are local be sure to check them out.

Don't forget to catch us next week, same Bat channel same Hammer time.
